Published in 2023, Sunglasses and Duct Tape is Abhir’s debut poetry collection. Born from a painful period of bullying, isolation, and emotional distress at age 17 that was triggered by hurtful, untrue rumours and anxiety that left him feeling silenced, Abhir poured his feelings onto the page in a single sleepless night, creating 23 unfiltered, powerful poems. The collection’s evocative title represents his attempts to hide behind sunglasses and hold himself together with duct tape—symbols of hidden pain and quiet resilience. Through his honest, unapologetic voice, Abhir’s poems offer comfort, solidarity, and strength to anyone who’s faced the loneliness of being misunderstood.
